This training course should be taken by anyone who works in general industry as Lockout / Tagout procedures can be used in almost every working environment! Key industries include: Electrical sector, Construction, Heavy Machinery Operators, Mechanics and Oil & Gas workers.

 

Lockout / Tagout is a process used to help eliminate machinery or equipment that is not working properly in the workplace. This course will teach you lockout procedures and what information needs to be put onto tags. This course follows OSHA guidelines for Lockout/Tagout training.

  • Employee Responsibilities
  • Employer Responsibilities
  • Electric Shock
  • Lockout / Tagout Devices
  • Energy Isolating Devices

 

By the end of this course the learner will be able to:

 

  • Describe the need for the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) process 
  • Identify the general responsibilities of groups of workers in the LOTO process
  • Summarize the 4 steps of the LOTO process
  • Recognize the purpose of each step of the LOTO process
  • Recognize procedures for responding to unexpected situations
  • Explain the procedure for returning to normal operations
